We just got back from two weeks in the Bay area on Chaitanya. Heidi was working at the hospital and I was watching the little ones and working on Chai when I could. I managed to figure out some more of the plumbing. I started an inventory and list of all storage spaces for a master on the computer that we can refer to when we are searching for some obscure part underneath tons of sailing gear and provisions. My friend Steve, an ex-diesel mechanic turned Chiropractor came down one morning and looked over the engine with me. We created a master list of part numbers, spares, and ordered a bunch of spare parts for the cooling system. Jonah watched the "Home on The Range" DVD probably 15 times! I sized up our foresails and decided that the only sail we need to add is a spinnaker with sock. Fortunately, those don'd have to be sized exactly for your boat, so I will probably be able to find a good one used. All in all, we had a great time. Chai is very comfortable to live on. I'm sure she'll make us proud at sea. Oh yeah, I also had the canvasmaker down to discuss shade opotions for the cockpit, and we came up with some good ideas.
